About the Friends

We frequently are asked about the Friends: our mission, our board and the Friends Shoppe.

The Friends group is dedicated to supporting the library. To raise funds, we operate the Friends Shoppe entirely with volunteer help. Besides the gift items and used books in the shop, we sell used books from shelves in the mallway. These two means of selling used books replaced the annual book sales we hosted before the shop opened in 1997.

The Friends group is a not-for-profit corporation, so membership dues and donations of used books may be tax deductible. There are nine members on the Friends’ board.

We invite you to print the coupon for a nice discount in the shop. We welcome new members and volunteers.
